Thematically my work is rooted in curiosity and existence. Life is my favorite subject! I hope to inspire viewers to feel an amplified sense of wonder for their own life experiences—past, present, and future.
My work fuses the two intrinsic disciplines of painting and ceramics. I paint expressive imagery onto well-crafted ceramic forms that can be integrated into daily life. I see my sculpture work as painting in the 3D.
I make mugs, cups, sculptural planters, vases, small jars, magnets, and the occasional trinket. Each piece is designed to be both a joy to use and look at.
Visually, I draw inspiration from Art Nouveau, Hilma af Klint, and the life sciences. I’m especially drawn to combining the enchanting aesthetics of fairy tales with the intricate wonder of the natural world.
